The stylish Left Swingers (2-3), sporting a baseball-playing Joe Biden cartoon on their jerseys, hosted the always-enthusiastic and constantly-singing Big Leaguers (0-4). Though the teams both would have enjoyed a left leaning policy battle in the weeds, they switched mediums and took the softball contest out to the high grass in Anacostia Park on a cloudy Monday evening.

Using traditional sabermetrics, like their records and runs scored, it would seem that these teams may be lackluster. Avast, the Big Leaguers were powerful - with hot bats and strong voices in belting out Josh Groban classics, and the Left Swingers were speedy - especially when trying to catch the newest Bachlorette episode. Led by the thunderous bat of Nate "Cannon Arm" Riggins, the quick glove of Emily "Caught All Three Outs" Cummins, and funky musical stylings of Justin "Acapella Eyebrows" Goldberger, the Big Leaguers kept it close through 5 innings. The Left Swingers were not discouraged by the early poll numbers. Left Swingers pitcher, Joe "J-Arm" Armenta, blanked the Big Leaguers late with his bread and butter sluve and cutter combo. The Left Swingers sloshed through the swamp by sliding and sprinting through the bases, highlighted when the team's 2017 MVP, Colin Craib, hit a perfect three-for-three and Coulter "C-Diddy" Minix smashed two critical home runs to drive in five ribbies. Once the ballots were collected, the Left Swingers bested the Big Leaguers, 11-6.
