The Week 6 Game of the Week featured the big tent Left Swingers and the hard iron Art of the Steel in beautiful Anacostia Park. Both teams showed up determined to win and steal the show, but the Left Swingers’s ability to forge ahead in troubled times lead them to victory.

Art of the Steel started the first inning with an RBI from third base that gave them an early 1-0 lead. The Left Swingers answered with a two-run homer blasted by Coulter (aka Coult .45), who would homer again later in the fifth. Perhaps if the 2A team was more open to adopting common sense measures, they could've realized and mitigated the threat this weapon played on the field.
The bats on both sides exploded in the second inning. Art of the Steel managed a sustained assault with a 2-out rally that put the team up 7-2. Nevertheless, the Left Swingers persisted and scored an additional 7 runs. Art of the Steel’s early runs provided a popular, short-term stimulus, but the runs failed to trickle down and run growth couldn’t outpace a deficit too large to overcome. Also, the proposed infield wall only came to fruition behind home plate as Art of the Steel’s catcher flashed her golden glove on every pop up within a drone’s sight.
