Despite Wednesday being the most glorious weather night all summer (aka, no rain on a softball night), Various Positions and Immaculate Innings had to overcome serious challenges to play ball.  The setting was field #2 along Ohio Drive. It started with a large flock of hissing geese, attempting to squat on the field, ignoring the permitted team's rights to be there.  Once the geese were safely relocated, the "Long Fence" company moved in and attempted to distract the players by bringing in large flatbed trucks and tractors to remove the fabulous 4th of July fencing that remained in place from the previous week's events.  Luckily, both teams were steadfast and unflappable, and were able to ignore the truck fumes and loud noises to power through the game.  It was a close game for the first couple innings, with VP leading 3-0.  However, after the third inning, VP broke it open and despite 5 members of the team joining the infield pop-up club (a club no one wants to belong to), winning 26-3.  Thanks for the game Immaculate Innings-see you next time!
