About the League

The United States House Softball League (USHSL) is a not for profit league founded in 2006 by Capitol Hill staffers. The USHSL offers a fun and competitive softball league representing a wide spectrum of the DC landscape. The league is made up of 100 plus teams from Congressional offices, Executive Agencies, State Societies, non-profits, trade associations, think tanks and K Street.

Throughout the summer, teams schedule their own games at fields throughout the city and enjoy league sponsored happy hours and softball menu pricing at the Capitol Lounge. An updated website with standings, scheduling info and message boards allows coaches and players to follow the rise and fall of House Softball teams.

In early September, the Top 32 teams, based on the RPI standings formula, compete in a one-day single elimination tournament to crown a House League Champion. Tournament Saturday is an all day event with BBQ, drinks and nearly 1,000 softball players sharing the fleeting last moments of summer.

For over fifteen years the USHSL has been an integral part of the Washington DC experience. Sign up today and be a part of the action.
